1993 was originally born from an idea and the musical direction of Zbuk, for the lyrical development of FFiume and the magic touch of DJ Clas-K.It was illustrated and visually curated by Daddy Rap and Il Numero Uno.1993 celebrated 30 years of activity of FFiume and Stretto Blaster in this rap sh*t, under the uncanny soulful influence of a boom-bap lifestyle to the max.
Right after the release of the original mixtape, FatFat Corfunk – a true schooler, record digger and music producer from Milan, Italy –
was so enthusiastic and inspired by the opus that he spontaneously offered to remix a few tracks from 1993.A selection of 5 tracks taken from 1993 is then revisited in a lo-fi key by FatFat Corfunk,
who composed the music with the sole help of his vast record collection and his trusted Roland SP-404SX sampler.The choice and combination of different sounds, the painstaking work of cutting and reconstruction of drum patterns,
to articulate the harmonic distortion of samples and basslines, is all hand-made, without any software, a guarantee of craftsmanship and research.As a final seal, DJ Clas-K takes care of the mix and mastering,
respecting the producer’s own organic choices as much as possible.
